Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are a powerful tool for capturing, storing, processing, and displaying data sets that relate to specific positions on Earth’s surface. For instance, a GIS map of a city might display the streets, traffic signals, water lines, water valves, water meters, sewer lines, sewer manholes, sign locations, gas lines, power lines, and other utility features. By incorporating several data sets into a GIS database we can better analyze and understand the geospatial patterns and relationships of your city. Each GIS data point can also have an infinite amount of information attached, such that a comprehensive network can be cataloged, mapped, stored, and shared.

In addition, the seamless integration of Remote Sensing and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) drone data within the GIS environment results in data driven project analysis and design. Whether it be satellite data (LandSAT), Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data, spectral or 3D terrain data collected by one of our drones, Kirkham Michael continually strives to integrate the most technologically advanced methods within our project analysis and design.
